Breaking Update: Head of State Confirms FAST Election Victory

Apia, Samoa - Samoa’s Head of State, Afioga Tuimalealiifano Vaaletoa Sualauvi II, has issued the official warrant confirming the lawmakers who will form the next Parliament.
The warrant finalises the outcome of the 2025 snap general election, securing FAST’s victory with 30 seats, well ahead of HRPP (14 seats), the Samoa Uniting Party (3 seats), and Independents (4 seats), according to Reuters.
With the results confirmed, FAST leader Laʻauli Leuatea Schmidt is on track to be sworn in as Samoa’s next Prime Minister, reinforcing the party’s mandate to form government.
